The Magnificent Eight Blog Tour ~ Nov 3-7th!

Magnificent Eight

Anya Bast, Jaci Burton, Lauren Dane, Megan Hart, Joey Hill, Mandy Roth, Shiloh Walker and I have joined in a blog tour! Hop around to each of our blogs and read the questions posed to each other and our answers. Join in the fun and leave a comment answering the question on each blog, and be entered for a chance to win eight different prizes (check each blog to see what the particular prize is and when the prize winner will be announced by each author).

Me!
Anya Bast
Jaci Burton
Lauren Dane
Megan Hart
Joey Hill
Mandy Roth
Shiloh Walker

Here’s my question and all the authors’ answers: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

The Chosen Sin Anya ~ I would love to have healing ability. You can have all the money and security in the world, a good job, a nice place to live, ect, but if you or one of your family members is seriously sick it turns the whole world dark. So I would love the ability to heal.

Riding Temptation Jaci ~ Supersonic speed. I could get so much work done this way, and I’d never miss a deadline!

Undercover Lauren ~ Hmmmm – for selfish reasons, I’d like the ability to heal – the why is because my oldest has a disease I’d love to cure.

Stranger Megan ~ My superpower would be to never need sleep. I’d get a whole lot more accomplished during the day if I didn’t have to sleep.

AMermaidsKiss Joey ~ Invisibility, because it could get me out of just about any tight spot – kidnapping, mugging…the ordeal of looking like an uncomfortable geek at a social function. Instead I could eavesdrop on conversations and then re-materialize with something interesting and relevant to say – or more likely stay invisible and get story ideas from the conversations I overhear.

Ambient Mandy ~ Telekinesis because really, is there anything cooler than glancing at that lady in the coffee shop who keeps cutting in line, day after day, and making her slip and wear what she was in such a hurry to get to?

TheMissing Shiloh ~ The power to wave my hand and viola…all messes are cleaned up. Might sound lame, but I spend soooooo much time picking up things up, time I could spend reading, writing…sleeping…

Revelation Patrice ~ I would want the ability to teleport. The money I’d save on gas would pay for a lot of lattes. Not to mention, I’d never be late for anything!

Okay, now that you’ve read our answers to my question, leave a comment answering the question above and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a signed copy of SCIONS:REVELATION (my upcoming December release). Don’t forget to head over to each of the author’s blogs listed above and read their questions and all the Magnificent Eight Authors’ answers, reply to each question on each blog to be entered for a chance to win a prize given away by each author. Eight blogs and EIGHT chances to win, so go blog hopping!

You’ve got until 7:00 pm EST on FRIDAY, November 7th to answer the question on my blog and I’ll announce a winner of a signed copy of SCIONS:REVELATION on Friday night.

Have fun!

Note: If your response doesn’t show up right away, don’t worry. I’ve got the comments on moderation to keep out spam. I’ll approve your comment shortly.

  1. Oh, how I love these authors-coming-together-things! I think it’s so interesting to hear what different things everyone answers to the same questions.
    Now to my answer.
Well, I thought about it a long time, because having ANY superpower would be cool, but I’ve made my decision.
I think I’d love to have power over the elements (or at least one of them). I mean, what is stronger than nature itself? And you could get out of almost every mess without so much as a wave of your hand.
Your oven doesn’t work? - You can warm your things up with a nice little flame.
The bitch from your office is swaggering about her superlong, well-shaped legs and emphasizes them with a ubershort miniskirt? - Just a little breeze and everyone’s laughing about the cellulitis on her butt.
(Oh, I’m soooo evil! LOVE evil 8) )
I realize I sound like a commercials guy - “Buy our new element superpowers right now and you get it reduced by half!”
    Ah, I think I should stop now, ahem… X

  2. OH.. I’d love to be able to teletransport so I could easily visit friends on the other side of the world. Would cut down on transportation expenses, greatly.

by Ann M. on November 3rd, 2008 at 3:30 am

  3. Hairlessness. Because shaving doesn’t last long, I can’t afford laser removal, and I’m not masochistic enough for waxing ;-)

    Have a lovely day! :-)

by Tez Miller on November 3rd, 2008 at 4:32 am

  4. I would like to be able to fly at any speed I wanted. Then I could visit anywhere in the world for a day or a few hours. Also I wouldn’t have to worry about traffic and time crunches!
    lol

    Regards

by Lea on November 3rd, 2008 at 5:46 am

  5. I’d like the ability to remove the calories from food with affecting it in any other way (taste, texture, etc). I’d be rich, slim and have people begging to do my will! *evil cackle* Whoa, what a head rush!

by Stacie Mc on November 3rd, 2008 at 5:56 am

  6. yes I believe I would want the ability to see the future. To be able to know what is going to happen and do my best to change a bad outcome to good. I might even be able to find a guy that will stick around that way…I so hate being single.

by Dianna F on November 3rd, 2008 at 5:59 am

  7. I’d love the power of flight. I dream of flying often and it is so much FUN!

by Annmarie on November 3rd, 2008 at 6:23 am

  8. I’d like to be able to teleport. Surely that’s most environmentally friendly way to travel, too.

by Paula on November 3rd, 2008 at 6:32 am

  9. I’d love to have a photographic memory. You’d be able to be super smart and successful at everything: languages, everyday tasks etc. Plus you’d never forget a name, face, or birthday so it’d help socially as well.

by Lauren on November 3rd, 2008 at 6:42 am

  10. The ability to move things with my mind.

by Amy S. on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:12 am

  11. I’m with Shiloh, I always said I wanted the “point and clean” finger. I hate cleaning. It ranks up there with paying bills, lol.

    Great day, ladies!

by Michelle M Pillow on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:22 am

  12. Good morning Patrice,

This is my 1st time here. I came over from Lauren’s blog!

Superpower: I’m gonna go with the healing power. To be able to heal others (animals included) that would be wonderful. I’d like it to be retro ~25 years though!

    Have a great day,
    Susan

by Susan on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 am

  13. MIND READING. Then I would know what my husband was really saying or feeling instead of me feeling like I am talking to a wall.

by sara hurt on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 am

  14. Oi. Um. Invincibility, with an added touch of immortalness. That would be awesome….well…as long as my spouse had the same power!
    Natasha A.

by Natasha A. on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:39 am

  15. A great metabolism, then I could eat whatever I want. Okay, not really a superpower, but it would sure be great.

If I had to have a “real” superpower it would be teleportation. It would come in handy for my 30 mile commute.

by Lisa J on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:55 am

  16. I think I would love the power to read other’s emotions.

by Renee M. on November 3rd, 2008 at 9:02 am

  17. At fist I thought mind reading, but then I figured why not go for total mind control. I could make my kids eat their veggies and clean their rooms, make my husband give me foot rubs whenever I wanted, and make my boss give me days off with pay whenever I didn’t feel like working…..sounds like heaven to me!

by Cheryl M. on November 3rd, 2008 at 9:34 am

  18. I would like the power of healing. I have several members of my family who are in poor health.

by CrystalGB on November 3rd, 2008 at 9:44 am

  19. I’d love the power to Shapeshift into ANYthing because i could fly with the birds or run with the wolfs or just flow free like the wind and water!! thats the ultimate* power to me !! =D

by Elora on November 3rd, 2008 at 9:45 am

  20. Hiro Nakamura’s ‘Time Stop’ ability - then I could get all the writing done to deadline!

by Rachel Green on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 am

  21. I would like the power of “instant clean”. I’m sooo tired of cleaning. Need a chance to catch up on my reading…lol.

by Lisa T on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:16 am

  22. *waving* Hi, Patrice!

Here’s wishing you loads of luck with the release tomorrow!

This is a question that I usually answer with “teleporting”–my family lives in another country, and the eldest monster is attending college on the other side of the continent, can you imagine the money and inconvenience avoided by teleporting?

And if I could teleport someone with me–by hugging them?–bonus! grin

by azteclady on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 am

  23. I am going to go for the power to manipulate time. That would come in handy but, since I am lazy, I have a feeling I would abuse it.

Lisa T, I really like your responses. I like your limo and your instant clean ideas!

by ThatBrunette on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:49 am

  24. I would love to be able to fly!! 8)

by Blanche on November 3rd, 2008 at 11:12 am

  25. I would like the Teleportation. So I could show my kids the world.

by Maggie Johnson on November 3rd, 2008 at 11:15 am

  26. I would love the power to eliminate all the calories from chocolate. =D

Okay, really I would love the healing powers as well. It would be wonderful to not feel so helpless when the people you love are hurting or sick. I just think of all the good that could be done with this one, so that would have to be my choice.

by Zara on November 3rd, 2008 at 11:29 am

  27. Hmm I’d have to say I’d love to be able to teleport. That way when I’m having a bad day at work or just in general I could zap my butt to a tropical island or with a hunky stranger or both or hmmm…the possibilities are endless! hehehe

    Shanna

by Shanna on November 3rd, 2008 at 11:31 am

  28. Easy….telekinesis. Yeah, a lot of people may want that one, but it’s the closest thing I would get to having multiple arms without actually having the multiple arms. I could fix dinner, play with my son, read a book, sweep the house, and do laundry all at the same time and while I’m sitting on the couch. That would make it worth it to me.

  30. I would love to a have a power connected with the weather. I love thunderstorms, wind, rain, snow. I would use so Texas could have four distince weather seasons.

Kind of like Remi in Riding the Storm by Sidney Croft.

by Greta on November 3rd, 2008 at 11:55 am

  31. I would love to have the power to heal.

by Bev Stephans on November 3rd, 2008 at 12:02 pm

  32. My superpower would be telekinesis. I would love to be able to manipulate objects and people with my mind.

by Jane on November 3rd, 2008 at 1:03 pm

  33. For my superpower, I would like to run very fast9like be speed or something) because that way I can run to any where and save money on gas and also help the environment and not to mention, I would be in very good shape lol

by kaly on November 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pm

  34. I would like to be able to teleport. I would be able to go see my kids and not have to worry about time or gas money.

by Estella on November 3rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm

  35. I would love to be telekinetic. Since I’m a quadriplegic, this ability would come in handy when things drop on the floor.

by Jody F. on November 3rd, 2008 at 3:08 pm

  36. I’d choose the ability to heal. Medicine and healing has always fascinated me and I’d love to help people by healing them.

by Karin on November 3rd, 2008 at 4:39 pm

  37. I would love to be like Samantha on Bewitched. Oh to be able to wiggle my nose and have things happen. Now that would be the life.

by Stephanie S. on November 3rd, 2008 at 5:08 pm

  38. Mind reading - I’d like to know what others are thinking so I can tell if I’m being played or not.

  39. I always thought it would be cool to teleport…I love to travel…

by Michelle B. on November 3rd, 2008 at 6:17 pm

  40. I think I willhave x ray vision so I can spy on hot guys.

by Debby on November 3rd, 2008 at 6:39 pm

  41. Superpower? That’s a tough one. I think I’d go with the ability to fix anything. Not just heal the sick or that but fix whatever is wrong, broken toy, done. Car crash, turn back time and stop the crash. Yep, I think being able to fix anything would be best.

by Rhian Cahill on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:04 pm

  42. I’m not entering obviously, but i wish i could find out where they get some of these years..those pecs..those abs…mmmm..!

by Lou Gagliardi on November 3rd, 2008 at 7:11 pm

  43. I agree that teleporting would be amazing & save on gas!, but I think I would like the ability to make someone tell the truth–probably by direct contact, but maybe with something making contact, like Wonder Woman’s lasso did.

by Lorelei Kerns on November 3rd, 2008 at 8:05 pm

  44. teleporation would be my choice.

by Pamk on November 3rd, 2008 at 8:08 pm

  45. Although it could prove uncomfortable,I would like to have the ability to receive the truth to any question. It would really come in handy at election time, but might not be so great when I ask the old “Does this make my butt look big?”.(Shudder)

by Crystal Dee on November 3rd, 2008 at 9:05 pm

  46. You know, my choice used to always be teleportation. I still think it’s an excellent one - but … shapeshifting might be it. Like Mystique from X-Men? Then… who cares what you eat? As long as I stay relatively healthy, I can eat what I want and always be a size 2. P I miss those days. And I’ll probably never see them again.

by limecello on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:51 pm

  47. I would like to have the power to go back in time and change the outcome of events. That way I could have more time with my those in my family who have passed away and keep them around longer.

by EllenToo on November 3rd, 2008 at 10:54 pm

  48. I would definitely love to be able to teleport. Going where I want and when I want at such a quick speed is very appealing. Thanks!

by Rachel on November 4th, 2008 at 5:26 am

  49. I would like to have a teleport power. I love to travel but hate the plane and time spent at the airport.

by May B. on November 4th, 2008 at 5:47 am

  50. Ability to heal.

by Diane on November 4th, 2008 at 11:29 am

  51. Telepathy. I love to talk. LOL

by Joy Roach on November 4th, 2008 at 1:00 pm

  52. I always thought rogue’s power of havign anyone’s power was cool from X-Men…but obviously if no one else had powers i’d be useless. So i’d probably go for invisibility so i can eavesdrop on people easier.

by Ayla on November 4th, 2008 at 1:01 pm

  53. Would love to be able to teleport wherever I wanted at the blink of an eye.

by Cathy M on November 4th, 2008 at 3:51 pm

  54. Oooh.. tough question! I can only pick one? I think I’ll go with telekinesis. It would make my life easier on a day to day basis from cleaning to laundry to cooking!

by Joey on November 4th, 2008 at 4:11 pm

  55. Am I limited to just one superpower? In that case, I’d wield complete power over the weather–that way anytime I was ticked off with somebody, I’d smite them with a bolt of lightening.

by catie on November 4th, 2008 at 6:40 pm

  56. Okay it may not be a superpower but I always wanted to have magic or shapeshift. Okay there are a lot more now that I think about it so I’ll stop while I’m ahead.

by Brandy W on November 4th, 2008 at 7:20 pm

  57. I would love to be able to teleport or be able to read people’s minds!

by Terri W. on November 4th, 2008 at 7:59 pm

  58. I would love to have the ability to talk to ghosts. You could learn so much from them. smile

by Larena Wirum on November 4th, 2008 at 8:52 pm

  59. I would like to be cheerful and hopeful regardless of the problems I’m having. I would also like to to spread the cheer and smiles. I think this will be a better world if everyone wasn’t so angry and hateful.

by LILY on November 4th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

  60. I would love to have Innate Capability then I could do whatever I wanted/whenever I wanted without having to take the time to learn how!

I’m just as bad as a man when it comes to assembling without instructions!! =P

by Kimba on November 4th, 2008 at 11:27 pm

  61. I’ve thought for a long time the the ability to heal others would be fantastic.
But that could be very dangerous too. You would need someone to protect you and your family, from the criminals and other desperate people wanting to force you do heal someone.

    sandie

by Sandie on November 5th, 2008 at 4:03 pm

  62. Hum? This is a toughie!

I won’t be picky…I would take EITHER Healing Powers OR Foresight into the future.

Forewarned IS Forarmed, so that could HELP a lot too!

by Dana on November 5th, 2008 at 7:09 pm

  63. Superpower Automatic writing, to channel something that may not be their.

by Aveline on November 5th, 2008 at 9:19 pm

  64. I’d want the ability to travel through time both backward and forward and also it would have to be linked to being able to teleport, because what good is it to see time change in just one spot.

by Sue A. on November 6th, 2008 at 3:04 am

  65. Is vampirism a super power? No, dang LOL. Hmmmm, i’d have to say the power to change reality. Cause hey, who wouldn’t like a little fantasy now and then. I’d live in a world where I have Kyle Schmid all to myself hehehehe.

by Nicole on November 6th, 2008 at 5:26 pm

  66. My Superpower would be to be able to make a sad person happy and forget their worries or happenings that made them sad.

by RobynL on November 6th, 2008 at 5:32 pm

  67. Foresight…because hindsight usually ends up biting you in the butt!

  68. OOPS…Delete that above COMMENT…I sowwy..had already commented!!!!

    Bad MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

by Dana on November 6th, 2008 at 6:38 pm

  69. My superpower would be to the laundry with a twitch of the nose or wave of the hand. I do not mean just wash and dry, it would also be fold and put away. Five loads every 2 days just is not right. What I wouldn’t do to have that superpower.

by Heather P on November 6th, 2008 at 7:22 pm

  70. Hi Vivi!
Oh what a cool question! You know, I always thought I’d ask for super power of hearing everything since I can’t hear at all, but I do love the silence too! I missed my proms, and love historicals, so I want to be able to time travel back to regency times and dance at a ball with a rake ) . I want to then go to Medieval and meet the MIK’s (Men In Kilts). So you get the idea )

by Caffey on November 6th, 2008 at 9:18 pm

  71. I would love to be able to read people’s mind. After reading a book about the heroine being able to read the hero’s mind and knowing all the naughty things he wanted to do to her I found it to be very interesting and hot. I think this would be awesome to read people’s mind.

    Hugssss

  72. I would love to have the ability to shift things like furniture, people or other items out of the way. Move the cars that are not parked straight to make more space. Or move the person who is blocking the view over 2 or 3 inches.

by Lindsey Ekland on November 7th, 2008 at 5:34 am

  73. Hi, my superpower would have to be invisibility. A visit to the bank vault would be my fisrt stop.
    Have a good day. grinnod

  74. Super Strength.

Because while its always fun to ask an incredibly handsome and strong guy to help you out, for some reason they never seem to be around when I need them to help me lift something.

by Virginia Hendricks on November 7th, 2008 at 10:51 am

  75. the power to transport myself from one point to another with just a thought so I would never be late for anything again and would not have to worry about having a car or buying tickets to travel by plane, bus or train. It would also save me valuable time that I could use more efficiently.

by Shari C on November 7th, 2008 at 11:39 am
