I’m from Nowhere, but 80% Dixie!

Your Result: The Midland
“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |

I love taking these things. This one pretty much confirms what most people have said about me–that my accent is not really placeable (is that a word?). Hey, if this writing gig doesn’t work out, I could go for radio!
I grew up in the South in one of those “big cities”. Sure, certain words come out (like crawdad) which definitely places me regionally. heh. But for the most part my accent stays neutral. *I hear my NY friends laughing their rears off at my statement (said with a straight face
)*. I’m not referring to when I get excited about a subject. If that’s the case, THEN the “ya’lls” and “darlins” and drawn-out ten syllable words (that are really meant to be much shorter) come out! LOL!
Here’s another cool test to take, which says I’m definitely 80% Dixie, darlin’! ;) Ah, well, I guess you can never get too far from your roots.
What about you? Did you rank where you thought you would on these tests?
