Being a writer: the good and the bad
Every career has it’s upsides and the downsides. Being a writer is no different…
The upside is… you’re very observant, constantly listening. The downside is…you don’t always “hear” because you’re forming story ideas in your head once your muse kicks in.
The upside is…when you’re in the “zone”, there’s nothing stopping ya, baby! That story will be finished! The downside is…your house looks like a trainwreck while you’ve worked like a crazy person finishing that book!
The upside is…you don’t mind spending hours/days/months tapping at the keyboard, living in your fictional world. The downside is…people are like, “She’s a talkative one, isn’t she?” when you finally get out of the house and socialize.
The upside is…you don’t need TV to entertain you. The downside is…you can’t keep up with the latest talk about Desperate Housewives. LOL!
The upside is…one day all your hardwork will pay off. The downside is…don’t calculate your advance by the hours you put in or you might be tempted to go back to your day job. *g*
The upside is…you’re now an artist who creates an entire story and world using just your imagination. The downside is…some people will say you “make shit up”.
Ahh, being a writer…ain’t it grand?
